February is American Heart Month! It is a great way to remind everyone to focus on their heart health and encourage their friends and family to make healthy choices. We can help build a culture where making the health choice is the easy choice!
Here are some fun facts: Did you know that the first American Heart Month was in 1964? It was proclaimed by President Lyndon B. Johnson. At the time, more than half the deaths in the U.S. were caused by cardiovascular disease.
Cardiovascular disease and stroke remains the leading global cause of death with more than 17.3 million deaths each year. That number is expected to rise to more than 23.6 million by 2030.
